Physiotherapy is one of the therapy supports the NDIS may fund when it meets the scheme's funding criteria. The NDIS describes these supports in terms of everyday function, such as moving around a home or participating in the community.

The starting point is the participant's needs and goals. Ask the provider what the assessment will cover, what activities therapy will address and how progress will be reviewed.

Funding is not automatic simply because a service is called therapy. Check the support allowed in the plan, the provider's qualifications and the agreed fees before sessions begin. The NDIS's therapy-support guidance explains what it can fund and the evidence it expects.
